Recruiting Weekend Accommodations

Brown University - CIT (Photo by Sidra Islam)

This year, as in the past, we will be providing two modes of housing. Some of the prospective students will stay in a hotel, and others will stay with current Brown CS graduate students. Preferences for one or the other will generally be honored, but we may not be able to accommodate your choice; if one or the other is unacceptable, please let us know.

Hotel

Hotel accommodations will be provided at the Graduate please register here with code: 2003BRNPHD. It is located in Downcity Providence, a short cab ride or a 30 min walk from the CIT building. A number of RIPTA bus routes can also take you to CIT from the nearby Kennedy Plaza.

Directions can be found here.

Hotel accommodations will be provided at the Wyndham Garden. It is located across from India Point Park. It is a short cab ride or a 20 min walk from the CIT building. The hotel also provides shuttle service, and is a very short walk from bus stops for RIPTA #92, which can also take you to CIT. Up to two students will be assigned to each hotel room (more or less at random, but if you know someone you'd like to room with, let us know!).

Directions can be found here.

Graduate Student Hosts

A number of grad students have offered space in their apartments or houses to accommodate prospective students for the weekend. This could be in the form of a spare bed, couch, futon, etc; however, it does provide a better opportunity to interact with current grad students. Make sure to tell us any special concerns you might have -- in particular, a few of the grad students either smoke or have pets, which may cause problems. We also hope to pair each guest with a host sharing their research interests, so let us know your areas of interest.
