Professor Rivest will give an overview of the growth of cryptography, including some of the now "historical� aspects he was involved in such as RSA, MD5, and RC4. Rivest is an inventor of the RSA public-key cryptosystem and a founder of RSA Data Security. He has extensive experience in cryptographic design and cryptanalysis, and has worked extensively in the areas of computer algorithms, machine learning, and VLSI design.
