Each year the department nominates a number of graduating seniors for awards, both for academic excellence and for outstanding service to the department. Faculty are asked to keep this in mind as they come into contact with students, so that in early spring they can make and evaluate nominations.Outside institutions sometimes ask for nominations for awards as well. Faculty are asked to keep this in mind in case they encounter unusually capable students.
