Brown CS Student Eashan Iyer And Teammates Earn Second Place At The UChicago Trading Competition

The UChicago Trading Competition is among the nation’s premier university competitions for algorithmic trading, featuring cases covering topics such as market making, options trading, time series analysis, and more. This year’s event was held from April 10-11 and Brown CS student Eashan Iyer, who expects to concentrate in Mathematical Physics and Computer Science, was part of a cross-university team that placed second in the competition.

The UChicago Trading Competition offers an opportunity for students from top-tier colleges and universities to engage and network with companies in the financial industry. Students from across the nation who share a passion for trading and quantitative finance come together, compete in simulated trading, connect with each other, and network with sponsor firms and employers. Participants are asked to develop algorithms to make automated trading decisions and have their technical programming skills, financial acumen, and ability to adjust based on algorithm performance tested.
