The department and Brown in general provide several resources to aid you in designing your course plans and other activities towards careers.
Undergraduate and Masters
Brown's Center for Career Exploration offers many programs to help you think through possible career options, find internships, and prepare for interviews. There are specific pages (and career-exploration deans) for Technology and Tech Ventures, Careers in the Common Good, and more.
The Center's Assistant Dean for Tech Careers (Viktor Gavrielov) has prepared information that relates CS courses and tech job titles. These can be useful resources for planning your courses. Both mapping include descriptions of what kind of work various fields or job titles entail.
- A mapping of CS courses to tech fields
- A mapping from various tech job titles to CS courses

PhD
PhD students generally receive career advice from their advisors. That said, if you are interested in a career path that isn't in your advisor's expertise (e.g., teaching positions at small schools), reach out to other faculty in the department for advice.
