Our 40th Anniversary

From modest beginnings as an interest group within Brown's Divisions of Applied Mathematics and Engineering, the Department of Computer Science (Brown CS) emerged in 1979 and today is the University's largest concentration, with a long history of undergraduate involvement in teaching and research, multidisciplinary work at all levels, and using computer science as a force for societal good.
