Post a mini proposal to the Google drive based on your discussion in class. You will be assigned a partner for the mini proposal; the assignments are posted in EdStem. Please update the post by the official due date. Your post should contain the following elements, from the Heilmeier Catechism:

  • Project title
  • Names of team members
  • What are you trying to do? Articulate your objectives using absolutely no jargon.
  • How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice?
  • What’s new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful? inde
  • Who cares? If you’re successful, what difference will it make? What are the risks and the payoffs? For risks, think specifically about technical risks to proejct success, and how you can mitigate them.
  • How long will it take? What are the midterm and final “exams” to check for success?

We are looking for 3-4 sentences answering each of these questions, as well as a short slide presentation. We will ask students to give a brief 3-5 minute presentation in class. Please use Google Slides to make your presentation so we can use just one laptop for all presentations.
