What is Computer Graphics?
Creation, storage and manipulation of geometric objects (modeling) and their images (rendering)
Display of those images on screens and hardcopy devices
User controls contents, structure and appearance of objects and images
Synthetic graphics: model --> image, can be combined with:
- video: pre-stored on CD-ROM, (video) disk or real-time generated (e.g., from a camera, or decompressed stream)
- audio: pre-stored or synthesized
Haptic input/output (tactile, e.g., force feedback)
Image processing: intensity data (pixels)--> filtered images, features, or models
