The Markers
On a standard, full body capture sequence, 39 markers are required to fully identify and calculate the joint angles and body position of the subject. These markers are 14 mm in diameter and are covered with an reflective tape that bounces back the infrared light emitted from the cameras.
The markers are held on the subject by either Velcro, which adheres to a spandex
suit worn by the subject, or by double sided medical tape that adheres either
directly to the skin or clothing.
The more closely the markers move with the body of the subject, the more accurate the capture data becomes. Therefore, loose clothing is undesirable.
