The Cameras

The cameras used in this laboratory are high-resolution grey scale video cameras which capture at 120Hz progressive.

A distinguishing feature of these cameras are the fast-action strobe halos (the white band) that surround the lens and emit infrared light.  The light from these devices is reflected off the markers worn by the capture subjects.  The lens are equipped with filters that remove all non-infrared light, further distinguishing the markers from the other objects in the capture volume.

The cameras have been mounted on 8 foot tripods which allow the cameras to benefit from an elevated perspective of the capture space.
