Artemis

Welcome to Artemis 2013!

What is Artemis?

The Artemis Project is a free, five-week summer day camp for rising 9th grade girls in the Providence area who are interested in learning about science and technology. Traditionally, it has been run by four undergraduate women from Brown University in connection with Brown's Computer Science Department.

By teaching students computer skills, programming, and computer science concepts through engaging activities, the Artemis Project encourages young women to join the field of computer science.

Announcements:

2013 Reunion: We’ll be hosting the Artemis Alumnae Cookie Party Reunion on Monday, November 11th, from 7:00 - 8:30pm at the CIT on Brown University campus. The address is 115 Waterman Street. We will meet in the lobby at 7:00 pm and continue to the third floor. Please call us at (401) 484-7596 if you arrive late and need to be let in to the third floor. If you cannot attend, don’t worry! We’re working on making these reunions twice a year (once in the fall, and once in the spring) for all past participants of the Artemis Project for networking purposes. Please RSVP by November 6th. We hope to see everyone there for fun games and cookies!

Artemis 2013 is over! We miss you girls, and wish the best of luck to you as you continue into high school! We also want to thank the parents and families of our participants for all of the support you have provided over the past few weeks. Your contributions have been invaluable to the successes of our Artemis girls. Thank you for a wonderful summer!

With Love,

Miriam, Kayla, April, and Karishma
