Year: Senior
Want to Learn: I want to learn how to work with many different types of people who all bring different strengths to the table. Not only that, but I want to learn how to make sure that these strengths are utilized so that everyone and the project benefits.
Other Goals: It is important to me that we create something that will have a real set of users who are excited about using the software (and actually do so). I think my main issue with some of the projects I've done in the past is that a whole lot of work goes into them and then they just sit around in my home directory until I need to delete them to make room. Of course they had educational value, but I would love the project we do to have both an educational purpose and fulfill a real need.
Role and Skills: My strength definitely comes from my ability to both organize little details and be able to see the big picture. I also like working with people and making collaborative decisions. Though I enjoy coding, it is definitely not my strength, and I think a best-fit role for me would be a project manager role.
Relevant CS Classes: cs15, cs36, cs166, cs127, cs167
Other Experience: This past summer I was a Program Manager at Microsoft doing UI development for Windows Security. That experience helped me think about the users and what they wanted or needed, and I also had to translate that into something that a developer could actually code up.
