As discussed in Subsection 3.1.1, a string of symbols is represented by a number. You can enter a string of symbols into a command in order to use the corresponding number. To do this, you use quotation marks to begin and end your string. For example, if you use the keyboard to enter the following into a command box
"ABCabc"and push Do It, the value resulting is 313233010203. Be sure to use the double-quote mark (obtained on the Mac keyboard by using the shift key) rather than the single-quote mark; typing the single-quote mark will just make the MarkCalc beep at you.
