Final Projects
What did you enjoy most about the course this summer? Was there
something that you wanted to explore in more detail or experiment
with? This is your chance to do that! The final projects are
intended to be flexible and allow you to be creative. You have a
number of options on what you can do. Please talk to one of us about
your ideas before you get started.
Web-Researched Paper
- Explore a topic that a lecturer discussed. Or learn about a
computer-related subject not addressed in class. The world wide web
contains vasts amounts of information. Research a computer-related
topic of your interest on the web, and then write a short paper in
html. Your bibliography should be links to all your sources. You can
even include links within your paper to other sources.
C Program
- Write a more challenging C program. Some suggestions are listed
below, but you are free to use your creativity. Discuss your
specifications with a TA before you begin. Some ideas to try:
- Hangman
- a sort or search algorithm (or both)
JavaScript
- Enhance your web page with a JavaScript. You will need to do some
research on JavaScript and what it can do. Possible JavaScripts
include:
- Guard Links (ask Danah)
- Something that changes the image as you drag across it. See the Zelda Page
Other
- If you have a really cool idea, let us know. We are willing to
accommodate any thoughts!
