The Bone Lady

Mary Manhein

Read December 2002

A promising book that delivers poorly. Manhein is no great writer, but the content, which begins well, rapidly loses interest. It's a pity, because she has so much to work with.

Here's an idea for anyone who's paying attention: Bundle a few episodes of C.S.I. (a Jerry Bruckheimer TV show about crime-scene investigators, with lots of gore) on a DVD with a book that explains their science. Distribute widely. Make lots of money.
