Doing the Morph
The pixels in each image are rearranged according to the morph lines using a weighted average composed of
- pixel proximity to the lines: a pixel right next to a morph line will be highly influenced by it, one further away will still be affected, but less dramatically
- length of each warp line: the longer the line, the more influence it has--like a magnetic or gravitational field
where a, p, and b are magic numbers, defined in a SIGGRAPH '92 morphing paper
A fade then combines the two images.
Often computed results much be touched up "by hand" in a paint-type program.
