Sense of life comes from illusion of motion--"characters," "scenes" that change over time.
How is illusion of motion created--persistence of vision.
Series of images shown in rapid sequence can appear to move fluidly (flip book).
To achieve illusion of fluid motion, about 30 frames/second are needed.
