• Imagine final curve, Q(t), represents speed, velocity, and acceleration of a camera viewing a scene

• x(t) increases in value from t = 0 to t = 1/2,
  decreases in value from t = 1/2 to t = 1

• y(t) increases in value from t = 0 to t = 1,
  decelerates entire time

• Thus for Q(t) x is smoothly increasing until
