Today we have Printer Cat, who we ran into in the CIT. We aksed Printer Cat what she was up to. Response:
"I'm in your printer, nomming your papers."When asked for more details, she replied:
"People always yell at me for nomming their papers, but they don't stop and consider what it's like to have no higher purpose besides wood pulp consumption. Sometimes it all feels so meaningless. When I'm feeling especially empty, I go to the art supply store and nom on some fancy papers. That usually makes me feel better."On our way back to headquarters, we ran into Tech Support Kitty hanging out near the MSLab.
Tech Kitty told us that tech support was just her after-school job; during the day she is a computer science student. When she graduates, her dream job is to work for Google. She wants to move to either California or New York City, but for now she lives in Providence with her family. We asked her what she thought about CS.
"Computer science is super cool. There's plenty of programming, but what I really enjoy is problem solving. It's hard to pick one specific subject because there are so many different applications. In the CS department alone I've taken classes on computer graphics, math, robotics, and biology and I learned cool stuff in all of them."At that point, Tech Kitty had to respond to an issue with the fourth-floor printers, so we said goodbye.
