the project

The purpose of the Artemis Project '98 is to give a group of talented young women from Providence the opportunity to explore computers. We believe that young women can benefit from a program geared towards access to technology and discussion of issues relevant to their lives.

history

The Artemis Project was the created by two Brown students, Laurie Kardos and Jesse Marmon, in 1996 and was strengthened and expanded by Saori Taichi and Jess Howell in 1997.

coordinators

We, Miecha Bryant and Rupali Kotwal, are Brown University undergrads. We have an interest in technology and building relationships between the Providence community and Brown.

participants

All of the participants in the Artemis Project '98 have completed eighth grade and will enter Providence high schools in the fall. The girls arrive on July 6, so keep an eye out for the homepages they build this summer.

schedule

What are we doing this week? What information do we need to begin? For a schedule and handouts, take a look at the schedule.

natalia's corner

Natalia Lara, our wonderful assistant (also an alumna from last year's program) has put together her own part of the Artemis '98 homepage.

sponsors

We give our utmost appreciation to our sponsors, without whom the Artemis Project '98 would not exist.
