Artemis Remarks

Artemis is a summer Program for young girls going to high school. It takes place for a month in Brown University. The meaning for this program is so that us young girls will get the opportunity to make computers useful to us in life, and while we're at that, we also want to enjoy ourselves and make new friends. To tell you the truth, most people already knew each other already, but we all, those who didnt know each other, rather got acquintted quickly.

"What I experienced was how to put photos on the web pages, surf the web, and emailing. I've experienced alot, but a couple of things I knew already. But, it was a fun program." -Dorchina -

"I have learn alot more than I expected to. It was a great learning experience. It was also great to make new friends and meet new people. I definetly want to come on Saturdays." - Lauren -

"Well, I've learned alot about computers. It's been a new learning experience for me, and also it's been alot of fun." - Rebecca -

"I would like to say that being in the Artemis Project of '97 was fun because it was a good learning experience. I experienced many, many things which I can use in life." - Tishea -

"I would like to have more computer time and more people." - Franchesca -

"I experienced alot in Artemis. I learned more computer programs than I've known before. It was fun. If I had a chance, I would probably come the next time. I will tell my other friends when they finish 8th grade." - Julie -

"The Artemis was very good and it taught me alot of things. I hope to see Jess and Saori again." -Jessica -

"I thought Artemis was real fun and challenging, especially the computers. I really enjoyed Artemis and I thank Jess and Saori for that. They've been mostly fun to be with, and thank goodness it was them who was chosen (not that I would've known). I really enjoyed all the trips and all the professors who took their precious time to be with us." - Hie -

"In the Artemis Project, I have experienced many things. First, I learned to make my own home page, how to make links, and how to add pictures to the computer. I also learned how to send e-mails, and surfing the web. We also had the chance to learn how to work together as a team, and how to trust someone." - Karilenia -

"Artemis taught me alot about computers. It has also been a great summer and I had alot of fun." - Diana -

"I don't have any comment about the Artemis Project because everything was perfect. I liked to work on the computers, I liked the food, and hanging out with alot of students. I also liked the field trips alot. If I have a chance to come back and have a class like this year, then I would come back." - Savann -

"I experienced alot of new things at Artemis, like surfin' the web for example. It has been fun overall, and Jess and Saori made it worthwhile." - Natalia -

"I experienced alot of new things about computers. I made new friends, and Jess and Saori was the best . I hope next year's Artemis will enjoy it just as much as I did." - Ashley -

"I woudn't want to change nothing. But, maybe to have the program from 9a.m. to 4p.m. That's it, because it was fun and organized, and I enjoyed myself alot." - Dorchina -

"I wished that we had more time to go on the computers to e-mail, make home pages, and photoshop. I also wished that the program lasted longer, but besides that, everything is fine." - Lauren -

"Well, we should have more time, otherwise it was great." - Rebecca -

"I think the Artemis was very fun. The only thing I would change is some of the speeches and lunches." - Tishea -

"I like the Artemis Project. I like the people and the lunch. I like to work on the computers alot." - Franchesca -

"To tell you the truth, there is really nothing I want to change except for one thing, longer computer time to. It's fun that we surf the web, e-mail, and learn more programs." - Julie -

"Well, to tell you the truth, the only thing that I would change is to come to Artemis early at 9a.m and to leave at 5:30, so that we can have more time to spend on the computers and finish our work." - Jessica -

"Well, there isn't really a thing I want to change, 'cause everyone has said it all in here." - Hie -

"I don't think I would change anything from the Artemis Project, except a few things. I like Artemis just the way it is. The one thing I would change is, I would give the Artemis girls more Artemis time, and the name game we had to do for two weeks." - Karilenia -

"We should have more time to do our activities. But, everything else is good." - Diana -

"One thing I didn't like about Artemis was journals. We should do journals once a week. I think we should have more time in the computer room and more weeks on the Artemis Project. It was too short. We didn't learn alot of stuff." - Savann -

"I think the Artemis was a very thought out and organized program, so there's really nothin' I would like to change about it. The only thing I would change about Artemis is that I would make it longer 'cuz Artemis is real fun but it's too short. I get disappointed 'cuz it's not long enough." - Natalia -

"I would change nothing really, because it's fun & I enjoy it." - Ashley -

"I was really happy with Artemis this year. I did not know what to expect at all. I have been especially impressed by the intelligence of all of these young women and(I believe it or not) their maturity. I just hope everyone learned as much as I did. Thanks..." - Jess -

"I learned so much from Artemis it is funny that I'm of the teachers of the program! Not only did I learn about computers (yes I learned as much as the students) I also learn of the joy of working with girls. I was lucky to have a wonderful woman partner, Jess, as a director (teacher, and even more lucky to have Ashley, Rebecca, Hie, Natalia, Savann, Julie, Tishea, Lauren, Franchesca, Dorchina, Diana, and Karilenia as life long friends). I hope the group feel as satisfied as I do!" - Saori -
