Down below are some of my favorite books, and written pieces that include my personal
thoughts, ideas and reflections.
Little Women
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. This heartful coming of age novel,
takes place in the 1860s. The story follows four sisters and their adventures of encountering
love, loss, friendship and life changing descions. Alcott focuses the story on the four sisters
Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth who are all very similar in position but differnet in character. Meg, the oldest
March sister, battles her girlish weakness for luxury and money, and ends up marrying a poor man she loves.
She has many motherlike qualities, that allow her to help her sisters and try and maintain a humble household
when all things seem to fall apart among her sisters. Jo March is the main character of Little Women,
Jo is an outspoken tomboy with a passion for writing, this passion carries her throughout the book
even when all things seem to be lost. In the very beginning of the book Jo befriends her
neighbor, Laurie, who later becomes very fond of Jo, too fond for her liking. One of Jo's important roles is
taking care of her younger, ill and shy sister, Beth. Although Beth is perceived as a weak character she
is strong in heart and her love for piano brings her joy. Amy, the youngest of the March sisters is the opposite
of quiet, she is outgoing and is never afraid to speak her mind or do as she pleases. Which doesn't always work for her.
While reading this book, you will experience ups and downs, love and heartbreak, triumphs and losses with
the March sisters. I hope this brief summary of Little Women brings you to read this amazing book!
