Motion 10—Cosmetic Changes to Faculty Rules as a result of Faculty Governance Changes

Motion to authorize the Faculty Executive Committee to make cosmetic changes to the Faculty Rules and Regulations as necessitated by changes in faculty governance structures ratified by the Brown faculty during academic year 2002-2003. These changes include renumbering of sections of the Faculty Rules and Regulations, elimination of references to replaced committees, and reflection of name changes ratified by the faculty. These changes will be presented to the faculty no later than October 30, 2003 for final review.

Motion 11—Review of Faculty Governance Changes

Motion to mandate the Faculty Executive Committee to review all changes to faculty governance ratified by the Brown faculty in academic year 2002-2003 in academic year 2005-2006; to adjust and modify any new government structures deemed not to have been successful in their implementation, including returning to the governance structures existing before 2002.

Motion 12—Continuance of Committees

Motion to empower the Faculty Executive Committee to allow any existing committee slated for replacement due to faculty governance changes enacted in academic year 2002-2003 to continue operations until pending business deemed essential to the welfare of the University is completed. This determination shall be made upon application of the committee members to the Faculty Executive Committee before the end of classes in 2002-2003.
