Research Interest

Database management systems, particularly object-oriented databases, query languages, query processing, database support for scientific computing, superimposed information systems and net data management. A particular interest relevant to this workshop is data stream processing, and in particular stream semantics: using what is known about the structure and contents of a stream to determine query processing strategies, improve efficiency and provide information to users on the meaning query results.

Foresight

Data movement will replace data storage as the chief concern of data management systems.
