Description
1
Genetic Algorithm - TSP
Oct. 14
Traveling Salesman problem solutions, possibly with the use parasites to increase efficiency.
2
Dynamic System Model
Nov. 11
Modeling the population of a species based on a variable R. This population growth equation contains a relationship that eventually deteriorates into a chaotic system.
3
MANTA-Lite
Nov. 24
Individual unintelligent actors working in harmony yields complex group behavior.
4
Final Project
Dec. 20
We will work each week on developing a final project. Some initial ideas include a internet genetic algorithms laboratory, an evolving program for playing MUDs, a genetic model for object interaction, automatic generation of programs for crawling and walking, automatic generation of plans for mobile robots via genetic programming with automatically defined functions, cracking and co-evolving randomizers, evolvable 3D modeling for model-based object recognition systems, and genetic macro programming of neural networks.
5
Final Paper
Dec. 20
Everyone will write a final paper ( 8 - 10 pages) summarizing the material they learned in the course and discussing future areas of research.
