[More About Routing]

Each router moves a packet closer to its destination based on the IP address it is labeled with. Routers have routing tables that help move the packet in the right direction. The router looks up the IP address in the table and knows how to send it closer to its final destination. Packets going to the same destination do not always take the same path. They are routed the most efficient way to get to the proper destination, avoiding routers and servers that are busy or down.
