Requirements Handin Recipe Organizer: with calorie counter! A Very Brief Description: A database for recipes. Identify Local Users: My Mom and people like her who print out recipes from the Food Network page then leave them around the house. For those who are on Weight Watchers or any of the other one-billion weight loss programs that keep spamming my hotmail account. For those who have a whole cabinet of recipes, but never use one because they're unsorted and disorganized. Essential features: a) Must be able to store several thousand recipes. b) Each recipe can have up to 100 ingredients. c) Must have caloric information on 100 types of basic foods. This is what we'll build the total calorie recipe sum with. So, things like eggs, whole milk, flour, etc. d) Must have ability to save and load recipe database. e) Must be able to query and filter recipes excluding foods or including foods. f) Must have fast searches. (Mere seconds). g) Must be able to print recipes. h) Must be able to sum the number of calories in each recipe. Duh. i) Must be able to comment on recipe. j) Must be able to sort by calorie count. k) Mostly visual user interface. This is not a program catering to power users. User interface should be free of clutter and fast to learn. (Limit pull down menus. Make buttons graphical. Keep buttons down to a minimum, hopefully less than ten.) l) Recipe form to fill out must include: Date (computer fills), Recipe from, Name of dish, ingredients list, instructions list. Optional features: a) Expanded database of food with caloric b) Sorting by dish type: breakfast, lunch, starch, meat, etc. c) Favorite recipes of programmers! d) Visual walkthrough of program. e) Ability to email recipes. f) Html recognition/smart browsing. For recipes online, program recognizes the different sections of the recipe and fills out recipe forms itself.
