Project Title 1: ChessMaster

Brief Description  A Chess game between two players: either human vs human, computer vs human, 
                   or computer vs. computer

Identify Local Users:  Anyone who likes to play chess

Assign a 1-5 score for these criteria
        Useful to others: 3
        Has specific users: 4
        Can be scaled up to PC product: 5
        Divisible: 5 
        In C++ on Suns: 5

        Overall: 4

Pros: easily divisible
	AI
	Logic
	Network
	GUI
	etc

Cons:  AI can be tricky

Project Title 2:  Voice Recognition Mail

Brief Description:  Most answering machines today just let the caller 
                    leave a message 'after the beep'.  What if the answering
                    was more user friendly?  This voice mail system would identify (if known) the caller
		    and have more of a 'conversational' dialog.

		    computer:  Hi! You have reached the voice mail of Samina
                               She's not here right now.  May I know whose speaking?

		    Caller:  My name is Janice
	            computer: (check database)  Are you Janice Shelsta?
		    Caller:  Yes
		    computer:  Would you like to leave a message?

			and so on ...

Pros:  It will be fun to create.  And has a wide range of possibilities.

Cons:  Have to work with a specific package (such a Nuance Speech Objects -- available in Java)

Project Title 3: Jungle Ride

Brief Description:  This is a computer game for preschoolers.  Preschoolers would get
                    to select how the driver looks and what his/her name is.  Then 
                    this driver would take a bunch of preschoolers around a jungle.  
                    There would be various animals in the jungle and the preschooler
                    would have to identify each of the animals as it passed by.  Also,
		    each animal will have a brief description of itself.

Pros: Fun game for preschoolers
