Project title 1: Art program similar to Photoshop

Brief Description:

The program would allow all basic drawing functions including shapes,
text, photos and many ways to manipulate the canvas including filters,
blurs, etc. 

Identify Local Users:

Anyone could use the program - it would be a level of difficulty between
MSPaint and Photoshop.

Assign a 1-5 score for these criteria
	Useful to others: 4
	Has specific users: 4
	Can be scaled up to PC product: 4
	Divisible: 3
	In C++ on Suns: 5

	Overall: 4

Pros:
	Fun project to design and use.
	Very extendable - you can add as many features as you can fit in
during the time alloted.
	Fairly simple in terms of coding.

Cons: 	
	May not be as difficult a project.
	The user group may be too ambiguous as it wouldn't be used by real
graphic designers and may be over the heads of normal people.

Brief Description:
The program would provide a way to organize, manipulate, import, etc. 
digital photos.

Identify Local Users: Your average PC user with a digital camera.

	Useful to others: 5
	Has specific users: 5
	Can be scaled up to PC product: 5
	Divisible: 2
	In C++ on Suns: 4
	
	Overall: 4
	
Pros:
	I think a PC program like this needs to be done.
	Fun to use - makes storing photos much easier.

Cons: 	
	May not provide enough work for a large group.

Project Title 3: A HTML producer like Dreamweaver

Brief Description:

A simple program that allows you to create webpages without coding.

Identify Users: Novices who want to create a webpage.
	
Assign a 1-5 score for these criteria:

	Useful to others: 3
	Has specific users: 4
	Can be scaled up to PC product: 4
	Divisible: 4
	In C++ on Suns: 4

	Overall: 3.5

Pros: 
	May provide enough work for a large group.
	Can be extended to include many more features including
javascript and other web languages.
	

Cons:
	There are already a lot of products on the market for this
purpose.
