Brief Description:
an online card catalogue of multiple libraries and their many types of
media -- would include the ability to search using various search keys as
well as, perhaps, ability to find the status of books/etc and renew books
online

Can be scaled up to PC product: 3
Divisible: 3
In C++ on Suns: 3

Overall: 3.5

Pros: Useful and feasible

Cons: Not sure if it's complex enough to split up among 10 people

Project Title 2: Public Transportation Observation

Brief Description: some sort of visualizer for one or several forms of
public transportation, including busses, trains, trolley, etc -- to let
people know where in their trip the vehicle is, and maybe some sort of
estimated waiting time until the next bus/train/troelley departs

Local Users: commuters - students, working adults, etc

Useful to others: 3
Has specific users: 4
Can be scaled up to PC product: 3
Divisible: 3
In C++ on Suns: 3

Overall: 3

Pros: Would involve both a visualiztion aspect
Cons: the visualization would have to be pretty cool to make this software
anything near interesting

Project Title 3: Create-a-Crossword

Brief Description: the user enters in clues and answers for a crossword
puzzle, and the software creates the visual puzzle using those clues and
answers.

Local Users: all who are crossword fanatics

Divisible: 2
In C++ on Sun: 4

Overall: 2

Pros: You'd end up with a crossword puzzle
Cons: it's a pretty lame idea in general
