Project Title 1: Virtual Personal Trainer

Brief Description
	The program will help the user achieve fitness goals by
monitoring eating and exercise habits, providing tips on nutrition 
and exercise, and generating progress reports.

Identify Local Users: Fitness conscious students and faculty.

Assign a 1-5 score for these criteria
	Useful to others: 4
	Has specific users: 5
	Can be scaled up to PC product: 5
	Divisible: 4
	In C++ on Suns: 5

	Overall: 4

Pros: Project can very useful because of the increasing emphasis 
placed on fitness in our society.  In addition, the program can be
tailored to meet the specific goal(s) of the user.

Cons: The program must to be able store large amounts of information
on a variety of foods and exercises.  It may be difficult to 
maintain the user's interest in the program over extended periods 
of time.

Project Title 2: Theatrix

Brief Description
	The program will enable set designers to create 3D models
of theatrical sets by arranging props, scenery, and lights.

Identify Local Users: Theater, Speech, and Dance faculty and 
technical staff, student theater groups.

	Useful to others: 3
	Has specific users: 5
	Can be scaled up to PC product: 5
	Divisible: 4
	In C++ on Suns: 5

	Overall: 4

Pros:  The project will be very useful to set designers who 
currently use perspective drawings and scale models.  The
program can be used for other tasks like interior decorating
and landscaping.

Cons: Program may not be able to run in timely manner on
machines without advanced graphic capabilities.

Project Title 3: My First Financial Planner

Brief Description
	The program helps young people manage their finances by 
allowing them to establish budgets and record expenditures.  
The program will provide tips on how to manage financial resources 
responsibly.

	Overall: 5

Pros: Large target audience.  Lots of potential functionality.

Cons: User may find that maintaining receipts and other financial 
records to be too tedious.

Brief Description
 This program stores and organizes art slides to assist the user's 
study of art history.  The program will also have functionality to 
aid the user in the memorization of specific slides according to 
different characteristics.

Pros:  The project will have a great impact on the way art historians
study slides.

Cons:  The target audience may be too specific.
