Project Title 1:Experiment Design

Brief Description
To create a user-friendly interface that allows experimenters to specify the design and the materials for an experiment in cognitive science/psychology.  The system will create web pages that run the experiment and save responses.

Identify Local Users: Experimenters, professors and students in cognitive science and psychology

Assign a 1-5 score for these criteria
	Useful to others:4
	Has specific users:5
	Can be scaled up to PC product:4
	Divisible:4
	In C++ in Sunlab (Linux):4

	Overall: 4

Pros:It has specific groups of users and will be useful for people with little knowledge in web page design.

Cons: maybe difficult to come up with how to let the experimenters specify the designs without some limitations on the variety of the experiments.

Project Title 2:Patent Prober

Brief Description
To develop a program that will gather various information to help in invention assessment such as issued patents, patent filings, publications by the inventors, people who migh  be interested in the technology and the market.

Identify Local Users:investors, high tech companies,

	Has specific users:4
	Can be scaled up to PC product:4
	Divisible:4
	In C++ in Sunlab (Linux):4

	Overall:4

Pros: Will be very useful and can be scale up to a marketable product.

Cons: Hard to get the information about people who might be interested and the market without doing extensive research on the product.  Not very specific group of users

Brief Description
To create a web based access to Brown's facility  and project photographs.

Identify Local Users:Brown students, faculty members, and employees

	Divisible:4
	In C++ in Sunlab (Linux):4

	Overall:3

Pros:  Well-defined functions and target users

Cons: maybe target on too specific group of users.
