Project 1: Hybrid Images

My three hybrid images:

1. To demonstrate that my code is working, I used the canonical example of Derek and his cat Nutmeg.

2. Einsteing and a dog

3. Finally, the PR2 robot and a terminator

Next, I experimented with color. Is it better just to use color for the high-frequency component, just for the low-frequency component, or for both? I used the Derek-Nutmeg photo for all three to demonstrate the difference. 1. High-frequency color only:

2. Low-frequency color only. This makes it very difficult to see the high-frequency image:

3. All frequencies have color: This looks surprisingly good.

However, Even if the low-frequency color doesn't look great, it can lead to nice artistic effects for superimposing one image on top of another without dragging the superimposed image's colors into it:
