March 31, 1998

Today we had our first meeting since after the break. We finally have the project broken down into manageable pieces which seem to match the strengths of each group member.

Currently, I have a prototype for the user survey. The basic sections are:

• The interface (Do you find any of the controls confusing? Did you find yourself using some options infrequently?)
• functionality (Are there any features which you do not find helpful? Are there any which were helpful? What kind of on-line help would be useful to you? Would you like a tutorial on using the program?)
• and finally a bug report (Any features not working/don't appear to be working/work unexpectedly? Any computer failures? Any program lock-ups? What were you doing when it happened?)

April 19 ,1998

I have a working draft of the software documentation well underway. I have decided that there will be an HTML version and a .pdf version so students can print out a copy of the manual if they need to have a paper copy. HTML seems to be the ideal format for the documentation since this project will probably be cross-platform (Macs and PCs). The User questionnaire still needs work, which I need accomplish by Thurday, so that I can photocopies made for testing April 25.
