The other gadgets that inhabit the workspace world are transcripts. They allow you to record and/or display data such as long cleartexts or cyphertexts. You can set up a calculator to send a number to a transcript using a Send command, and you set up a calculator to receive a value from a transcript using a Receive command. The places where arrows can connect to or from transcripts are: the middle of the left and right boundaries, the corners of the transcripts, the middle of the top and bottom boundaries. When you try connecting to the top boundary, don't move the mouse-point all the way into the transcript--just slightly above it. Otherwise, you'll move the transcript.
We'll discuss transcripts in greater detail later in the semester.
