Up Late
Today, as usual, after-school fatigue set in at around 3:00. Also as usual, I powered through it (this is bad for my adrenals...) and taught 2 violin lessons, and then of course I was wired, so I took a quick spin down to the boulevard on my new ride, a 1996 Mongoose Crossway 450 hybrid attached to an Xtracycle hitchless trailer. I finished working on it yesterday, with the help of a recycled V-brake lever from Gorham Bike & Ski. Not quite a FrankenBike, but getting there, with a canti brake on the front, V-brake on the rear, Xtracycle on the back. Now I just need fenders.
I started coming off the wired-ness a few hours ago, (Bonita is taking up the slack now by tearing around the apartment). I guess I'm just up late, on the eve of MS anniversary number 7, kind of not wanting to go to sleep. So instead I'm surfing the Web for photos of Rivendell bicycles. Time end this foolishness, I think, and start my annual MS checkin, which will begin with: "how can I not have another Spring like this one?" and the tough choice between teaching school and teaching violin. One must go.
