Sometimes when I can't play something on the violin, I pretend I can, and then I can. This works for students, too. The change in posture sometimes unwinds enough tension to make striking changes in technique. It works the other way, too. When my students learn to stand and play the instrument with beautiful posture, they play better, and that makes them more confident, and that improves their posture, and they play better...so on. It's so amazing and wonderful that it works both ways.
