VMware
Here in Brown CS, we support VMware running on our Linux machines. VMware allows you to have access to a complete Windows environment while also having normal use of the linux machine it is installed on.
Where is VMware installed?
VMware has been installed on about 200 CS machines, including all undergrad machines.
How can I get VMware?
Email your request to problem@cs.brown.edu. Let us know the name of the machine you would like VMware installed on (the name is typed in red on the top right corner of the sticker that is on the front of the machine).
When will it be ready?
Tstaff will do the initial VMware setup. The Windows installation will be done overnight. Assuming there will be no problems, VMware should be available the next day.
