After Hours Support

Tstaff's after hours support is handled by the SPOC's (System Programmer Operator Consultant). These people provide off-hour support and trouble-shooting. They help in the performance of system backups, restores, user account management, and system enhancement.

There is a SPOC on duty 24-hours a day to deal with unexpected problems. In addition, there are SPOC hours every night. To check the current schedule of SPOC hours and to check if a SPOC is currently on duty, run spoc-info. If a SPOC is currently on duty, that SPOC can be reached via zwrite using the command zspoc. During hours, the SPOC's can be reached in person in office 502, by email via mailing problem, via zwrite, or by calling extension 3-7628. If it is very important and the SPOCs are not answering the phone, try calling the Sunlab Consultant at extenstion 3-7721; they may be able to get into contact with a SPOC quickly.
