Website Goal:

This website both documents the current work of the Brown Graphics Group in Pen and Touch Computing and incorporates an evolving repository that focuses on research in pen- and touch computing, both the user experience and applications. While it includes pointers into the large and constantly-evolving area of user interface and experience, its intent is to highlight the unique properties that pen and touch interfaces provide.

Current Research:

Foundations:

Memex

Vannevar Bush's 1945 Atlantic article describing his vision of the Memex that inspired later hypertext pioneers

Sketchpad

Ivan Sutherland's 1963 direct manipulation drawing program, Sketchpad, that inspired the graphical user interfaces we are familiar with today.
