Room 368 (CIT 3rd Floor)
This lecture will introduce students to optimization paradigms including constraint programming, linear programming, integer programming, convex programming, and heuristics. Students will learn how to translate a problem into a mathematical representation and how to interpret the solution.
Alice Paul is a Postdoc in the Data Science Initiative at Brown University. She received her PhD in Operations Research from Cornell University, advised by Professor David Williamson, and received her BS in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College. Her research focuses on the design and analysis of algorithms for optimization problems underlying revenue management, bike‐share systems, machine learning, and other applications.
