Solaris 10 is the most innovating OS release in Sun's history. Adam Leventhal, one of the 8 Brown CS alumni in the Solaris kernel group, will discuss some of the new technologies in Solaris including a new file system, virtualization environment and dynamic tracing framework. Sun also plans to release Solaris under and open source license -- find out what that means for systems research as well as hacking OS code in your dorm room.
