Room 368 (CIT 3rd Floor)

Keith Adams (ScB '00) will be returning to campus for a Tech Talk on the HipHop Virtual Machine ("HHVM"). HHVM is a new execution engine for PHP, aiming to bring high performance JIT compilation to the PHP programming environment. Developers at Facebook are now using HHVM for internal development, and we're preparing it for production. PHP is a challenging language to run well, with all the data dynamicity of JavaScript, and its own unique control-flow dynamicity. Keith will be talking about the unique problems Facebook has faced, and HHVM's solutions.

Keith joined Facebook as a Software Engineer in 2009, working on HHVM and Search. Prior to joining Facebook he worked at VMware, was a CS169 TA and co-author of Weenix.
