The announcements below include the most up-to-date course information, including changes to grading policy, updated TA hours, and links to the most recent daily quiz, lecture videos, and more.
There was a problem uploading yesterday's lecture video to Youtube. Check back for the Youtube link; you can still download the lecture directly here. There was no quiz or screen notes from yesterday. Have a great Thanksgiving, and enjoy the break!
Apologies for the delay in posting today's videos. Today's lecture and screen notes are available. There is no quiz from today, due to Thanksgiving break. In addition, there will be no TA hours from Wednesday to Sunday due to the break.
This upcoming Sunday, October 28, pk will not hold hours - vjsingh will be holding hours instead, from 5 - 7 PM. pk will hold vjsingh's normal hours next Monday, the 29th.
Design checks will occur next week from Monday to Thursday, 2 - 6 PM each day. Please sign up on Doodle, and in the name field, put the CS login of exactly one person in your group. Please bring a copy of your core language and implementation so far and be prepared to discuss your design. One final note - let the TAs know as soon as possible if you do not have a partner yet and are looking for one.
Today's lecture video and quiz are now available. There are screen notes from today. Also, Brown students, please remember that you need to let us know your group for Python by 11:59 PM tonight. Thanks!

Today's lecture video is now available. There are no quiz and screen notes from today. Also, the new written assignment (continuations) is out. One other note if you're a Brown student; please don't forget to email the TAs your groups for Python (or just your own login if you're working solo) no later than next Monday.
Firstly, today's quiz, screen notes, and lecture video are now available. Secondly, we wanted to address some concerns about written feedback for the project assignments. We won't give individual feedback on code style by default, since everyone can submit assignments as many times as he or she wants. If you would like more thorough comments about your design or style, please come to TA hours, and the TAs will be glad to go over it with you.
vjsingh and senewman will not be holding hours tonight due to fall break (senewman will hold make up hours on Saturday from 6-8 PM). In addition, please make sure that you turn in solutions to the next written assignment in separate text files named n.txt, where n is the problem number. See you on Wednesday!
The gradecap and late policies have been updated in order to clear up questions about final grades and late assignments. Please familiarize yourself with them, as you will be responsible for knowing them for future assignments. Thanks!
The ParselDesugar debian binary is now on the Brown CS Department filesystem. This should make running the binary easier and reduce your quota usage. To create a symbolic link to the binary, run
$ ln -s /course/cs173/web/2012/Assignments/ParselDesugar/bin/debian-dist/bin/assignment3-debian \
We hope this helps.
pk and jmkagan are switching Sunday and Tuesday hours this week. See the staff page for updated weekly hours.
The next assignment, ParselDesugar, is out. Please read the instructions, and get started early.
pk and senewman will permanently be switching Sunday and Monday hours (senewman's Wednesday hours will remain the same). The staff page has been updated to reflect the changes. Thanks!
