In this part of the project, you will fly somewhere new, and then we will do our in-class photo shoot at Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center on Tennis Court 4.
Change the Wifi Channel of the drone so that when we all fly at once
we minimize Wifi interference.
Do this by running the following:
sudo apt-get install wireless-regdb iw crda
sudo iw reg set NO
sudo iwlist wlan0 channel
This last command should list all the channels available. There are 13 of them. Make sure this is the case!
Then, use a text editor like nano to change your channel. Open up sudo nano /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf and change your channel appropriately.
You should change your channel to the last two digits of your Banner ID number mod 13. For example, if your Banner ID is B01234567, calculate 67 % 13 = 2 and change your channel to 2.
Fly your drone someplace besides CIT 121 and the Scili. Submit a brief narrative of where you flew, what safety precautions you took, and how the drone performed. Also submit a video of your work. (Upload the video to youtube and send us an unlisted link.) You should fly in Access Point mode, and set your ROS_IP accordingly.
On Thursday 10/26 we will have lecture in Pizzitola on Tennis Court 4. Our joint class project will be to fly as many drones as possible and create a video of this event.
